The document stated: Over the years, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has always received the support of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in preserving and enhancing traditional cultural values; building cultural life and civilized lifestyle in residential areas, contributing to the good implementation of policies on culture and religion.
In order to best prepare conditions to serve people to enjoy spring, celebrate the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao in a healthy, safe and economical way, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes to receive the attention and cooperation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to carry out a number of contents at festivals and Buddhist worship facilities, specifically: Propagating and mobilizing monks, nuns and Buddhists in promoting national cultural traditions, the true values of traditional beliefs and rituals; spreading the values of compassion, tolerance, and respect for the cultural diversity of religious communities.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to guide Buddhist followers and people to take measures to prevent superstitious phenomena, not burn votive offerings at Buddhist places of worship, ensure compliance with good customs and traditions, and preserve the traditional cultural beauty of the nation.
Participate and coordinate with local authorities to implement civilized lifestyle in festivals according to the provisions of Decree No. 110/2018/ND-CP dated August 29, 2018 of the Government regulating the management and organization of festivals.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism believes that with the coordination of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Buddhists and people nationwide will be able to participate in healthy, safe and economical cultural and festival activities to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.
