One of the highlights is the investment in construction, renovation and expansion of the green park system, distributed reasonably in central wards and densely populated residential areas. The most prominent is the Green Park and Lake in Nam Tien Ward, with a total area of 18.31 hectares, of which the lake accounts for 8.57 hectares, and the green park area is 9.74 hectares.

With a total investment of more than 300 billion VND, this project started in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2025. To date, the project has reached over 30% of the construction volume. The contractor is speeding up the construction progress so that this park can soon promote its functions and serve the needs of city residents. Not far away, 2-9 Park is also located in Nam Tien Ward, planned adjacent to Van Xuan Square with an area of up to 22 hectares. Not only does it have the function of creating green space, a place for people to play and live, but it is also a space for organizing cultural and community sports activities of the city. This project is expected to be completed in 2026.

Along with the two parks mentioned above, the city also built many other parks in residential areas and urban areas, to create green living spaces for city residents. While in the central wards, the city focuses on building green parks, in rural areas, the city has launched a movement to plant flowers and ornamental plants in public places. In recent years, the movement to build flower roads and model new rural roads has spread strongly.

With the motto “each road has a flower color”, thousands of square meters of flowers have been actively planted and cared for by people and organizations along inter-village, inter-residential, residential and industrial routes. The routes are planted with trees such as: Ten o’clock, purple afternoon, hibiscus, string of pearls… creating bright and vibrant color bands. The “Flower Route” movement not only enhances the landscape but also contributes to spreading awareness of preserving a green - clean - beautiful environment in the community, which is an important criterion in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas.

In addition, every year, in response to the "Tree Planting Festival" and the Government 's policy of planting 1 billion trees for a green Vietnam, at the beginning of each spring, Pho Yen City organizes tree planting launching ceremonies in many localities. From the beginning of 2024 to now, the whole city has planted over 80,000 new trees of all kinds, including shade trees, ornamental trees, timber trees and fruit trees, in public areas, administrative offices, schools, residential areas, businesses, etc.

Mr. Tran Xuan Truong, Vice Chairman of Pho Yen City People's Committee: From 2021 to now, the city has invested tens of billions of VND in tree planting activities, on inner-city roads and main traffic axes in communes and wards. In particular, there is a project to plant trees on 8 roads connecting to the cultural - sports complex of Pho Yen City, with a total length of nearly 3.5km, planted with nearly 600 trees including lat, camphor, sao den, sala...

Along with that, the city spends more than 2 billion VND per year to maintain the urban green tree system, ensuring shade and beauty. Currently, the average green land area in the whole city is 7.86m2/person, much higher than the minimum regulation of urban areas. In particular, the city has updated data on over 130,000 trees into the province's Thai Nguyen SmartTree management software, to monitor and track the growth, development and relocation of trees.

Adding green areas not only regulates the climate and reduces environmental pollution, but also becomes a landscape highlight, creating a green - clean - beautiful living space, demonstrating a long-term vision in urban planning of a young and dynamic city.
