In particular, parents and students have clearly understood that the upcoming exam will reduce one exam session and two exam subjects; candidates will only take two compulsory subjects: Math, Literature and two elective subjects. This exam will also use a combination of academic transcript scores and exam results in graduation recognition at a ratio of 50-50; foreign language certificates will not be converted into 10 points; vocational certificate points will not be added for all candidates...

Currently, the school is increasing the practice of exam questions for students, helping them grasp the exam structure, calculate reasonable exam time for each student, and strive to achieve high results for the exam.

Mr. Bui Vinh Tuy, Principal of Thanh Son High School (Thanh Son District, Phu Tho Province), said that the school focuses on self-study and self-training of thinking. This is the decisive factor in helping students overcome highly differentiated questions.

This exam is also to assess the students' real abilities, not just for the purpose of surpassing the score limit. The School Board directs teachers to improve the quality of formal teaching, making the most of class time to guide, assign homework, and correct students' work.

Grasp the new points of the exam

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized that the 2025 high school graduation exam is very special and has many new features. This is the first time that students studying the 2018 General Education Program will take the graduation exam. The second special feature is that there are 2 groups of students studying 2 programs taking the exam.

Of these, 25,000 students study the 2006 Education Program. Therefore, the exam will have 2 types of exam questions for 2 groups of candidates. Thus, compared to the previous exam, this year's exam has increased the number of subjects and exam questions. Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that if candidates are students studying the 2006 Program, there will be 24 exam codes/exam room (with multiple choice tests), then for candidates studying the 2018 Program, the number of printed exam codes will correspond to the number of candidates in each chosen subject.

In addition, the Ministry also noted notable changes such as students studying the 2018 Program are not allowed to bring the Geography Atlas into the exam room during the optional subject exam, while students studying the 2006 Program are still allowed to bring the Atlas into the exam room when taking the combined exam with a Geography component subject.

One of the differences of this year's exam is that while previously, the Ministry of Education and Training sent inspectors from the Ministry and inspectors mobilized from universities to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training inspectors to conduct inspections and checks of the exam stages, this year, from June 1, the Ministry of Education and Training inspectors will be transferred to the Government Inspectorate, and the Department of Education and Training inspectors will be transferred to the provincial inspectorate.

Similarly, the security forces involved in supervising the exam also had changes in their apparatus according to the policy of streamlining, merging, and implementing a 2-level model. Accordingly, there are no more district-level police.

However, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the inspection and police forces are the core in supervising and ensuring the safety of the exam. Although there are changes in the management apparatus, these forces still participate in performing their duties, closely coordinating with the national exam steering committee and local exam steering committees.

Because the exam has special features and many changes, the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training have issued a telegram requesting the Standing Committees of localities to focus on leading and directing the People's Committees at the provincial level, Party committees, authorities and relevant organizations and agencies to closely and effectively coordinate with the local education sector to carefully prepare necessary conditions, have backup plans for all unusual situations, and not let any stage of the exam go without close management and supervision and without someone taking responsibility.
