On June 18, contractors are speeding up the implementation of the Hoang Hoa Tham expansion project, from the gate of the Army barracks (adjacent to the airport) to Cong Hoa Street (Ward 13, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Currently, the land area including the land managed by the Army and the houses on both sides of Hoang Hoa Tham Street, within the project boundary has been basically handed over. From above Hoang Hoa Tham overpass, looking down, one can clearly see the 22m wide road axis taking shape, going straight from Cong Hoa Street to the T3 terminal area of Tan Son Nhat airport (under construction).
This project will expand the current 8-10m wide road to 22m wide and 800m long with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND (including compensation and site clearance costs).
Mr. Do Huu Lam - Project Commander said that from May 28, the Investor - Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (abbreviated as Traffic Board) coordinated with electricity and telecommunications units to start the project of relocating technical infrastructure and constructing the drainage system.
Currently, the infrastructure relocation plan has basically completed the electricity and water part. In about a week, the existing electric poles and telecommunication cable systems entangled in the project boundary will be completely removed. At the same time, the construction unit is speeding up the progress of the drainage system and has installed 68m.
According to the Project Manager, the drainage system is installed about 1,200m long, including types D400, D800, D1000, D1500. On both sides of the route, there are technical trenches for underground electricity and telecommunications. The wastewater collection system, sidewalks are paved with Granite and synchronized with the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa Road Project.
“Currently, the project scope is still stuck with some residents who have not yet handed over the land. This problem is being handled by the Compensation and Site Clearance Board of Tan Binh District. On the investor's side, the project will be implemented in a rolling manner, with construction starting as soon as the land is available in order to meet the project's completion schedule by the end of this year,” said Mr. Lam.
Regarding the land acquisition work, the representative of the leader of Ward 13, Tan Binh District (HCMC) said that the project scope has about 150 affected cases. Up to now, there are still 4 households involved.
“Currently, of the four households above, two are being demolished. The owners of the remaining two have submitted petitions and are waiting for the city’s conclusion. If their wishes are satisfied, the residents will also accept the policy to help the project proceed,” said the leader of Ward 13.
