This morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector - chaired the 17th meeting.
According to the summary report of the Ministry of Construction , the projects under the Steering Committee include 37 projects/95 component projects, including 35 projects in the road sector and 2 projects in the aviation sector, with a total investment capital of over 1 million billion VND.
Emphasizing some of the achievements, the Prime Minister said that up to now, the whole country has completed 2,268km of expressways and strives to complete another 800km by the end of the year. Many projects such as Cao Bang - Lang Son, Can Tho - Ca Mau expressways, Dai Ngai bridge, Rach Mieu 2 bridge... are actively implemented, making efforts to shorten the time with new methods.

According to the head of the Government, the sooner projects are done, the more effective they will be, with the spirit of not increasing capital, not prolonging, contributing to the development of the locality and the country.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized that the basic goals for the projects must remain unchanged, ensuring and accelerating progress; improving quality; not increasing capital; not prolonging; not being corrupt, negative, or wasteful; and ensuring safety, hygiene, and the environment.
Pointing out key task groups, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to focus on promoting the highest sense of responsibility, mobilizing the entire political system to speed up progress and complete site clearance for projects.
Regarding construction materials, the Mekong Delta provinces need to promote the spirit of autonomy and self-responsibility; promptly remove obstacles, complete procedures with mines, and meet the requirements of contractors, investors, and management boards.
Investors and contractors mobilize resources from local subcontractors, human resources, and machinery. "For anything that can use manual labor, mobilize the military, police, and youth forces..." - the Prime Minister noted.
According to the Prime Minister's direction, arising issues must be handled immediately; those under the authority of each level must be handled by that level, without shirking or avoiding; if beyond authority, it must be reported to the competent level for consideration and decision.
He directed the State Bank to soon deploy a credit package of VND500,000 billion for strategic infrastructure, science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested to review and propose rewards for groups and individuals who have done well, including rewarding projects with many technical improvements, helping to save costs, exceed progress, and improve quality. He also requested that "anyone with shortcomings must be pointed out; anyone who fails to complete their tasks or commits violations must be promptly handled and disciplined."
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc directed the Ministry of Finance to balance and allocate resources appropriately and effectively, preventing loss, waste and negativity; Lam Dong and Thai Binh provinces proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to resolve problems in transferring capital to projects. Seven Government inspection teams continue to urge, review, and remove difficulties and obstacles related to projects on a monthly basis.
