Once a poor household in Hoa Tho Dong ward (Cam Le district), Mr. Le Minh Trung overcame difficulties and stabilized his life thanks to the business of selling processed onions and garlic at Hoa Cam market. Taking advantage of preferential capital from the Farmers' Support Fund, Mr. Trung invested in purchasing equipment, expanding premises, and improving the productivity of processing onions and garlic. Thanks to a stable source of goods and guaranteed quality, his products are trusted and chosen by many small traders at Hoa Cam market. Currently, the business model brings in an income of 20-35 million VND/month for his family. Not only enriching himself, he also creates regular jobs for 10 local workers, with an income of about 250,000 VND/person/day.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District) is passionate about ornamental plants, especially orchids. Realizing that the orchid is suitable for the local climate and soil and has high economic value, in 2019, she and her husband invested in growing orchids on an area of 1,000m² in Hoa Xuan Ward. Initially, she planted about 100 orchid pots. After a while, she borrowed 50 million VND from the Farmers' Support Fund to invest in more seeds, materials and care systems. Thanks to her diligence in learning techniques and care, her family's orchid growing model has grown more and more, to date there are more than 5,000 pots of various types of orchids. Each month, after deducting expenses, she earns about 15 million VND.

Similarly, effectively utilizing capital from the Farmers' Support Fund, Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh (Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District) and 5 members boldly invested in developing a model of raising apple snails, tilapia, and growing water lilies, combined with eco -tourism in the fields of Duong Son village. With a loan of 300 million VND from the Farmers' Association, he transformed the ineffective agricultural land into a production and livestock area combined with sightseeing and experience. Thanks to the methodical approach, the model operated effectively, attracting a large number of people to visit and experience, bringing in an average income of 18 million VND/month, opening up a direction for agricultural development associated with eco-tourism in the locality.

Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hoa Tien Commune, Dang Van Quang, said that the association is currently managing a 280 million VND Farmers' Support Fund. This is an important preferential capital source to help members invest in production, business, snail farming, water lily and lotus planting, and develop experiential tourism models, bringing a stable life to farmers. Most production projects ensure full payment of principal and fund fees when due. The association strictly implements the management, inspection, and supervision of loans. Loans are used by farmer members to develop production effectively, contributing to increasing income and improving life.

According to the City Farmers' Association, currently, the total source of the City-level Farmers' Support Fund has reached more than 47.5 billion VND; the source of the district-level fund is more than 8.8 billion VND. To date, more than 44.7 billion VND has been disbursed for 200 projects, supporting 1,343 households to borrow capital to develop production and business. The majority of households borrow capital to implement projects on planting, raising livestock, production and household business. In addition to capital support, the Association at all levels also focuses on improving the quality of rural human resources. Last year, 2,142 farmer members were trained and fostered; 981 excellent farmers at the district level or higher had their skills improved; 4,838 members were trained in science and technology transfer, accessing new technological advances in production.

Assessing the effectiveness of the Farmers' Support Fund, the representative of the City Farmers' Association said that in recent times, the implementation of loans at all levels of the association has had many positive changes, from propaganda, household selection, project development to procedural guidance, appraisal and disbursement. Inspection and supervision have been strictly implemented, ensuring that loans are used for the right purposes and effectively. The fund has contributed to expanding the scale of production, promoting the application of new techniques, creating safe and quality agricultural products, and attracting more and more members to join the association.
