France is renowned for its modern agriculture and sustainable farming methods. According to representatives of the French Inter-Industry Association for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (Interfel), with its mild climate and fertile soil, France produces more than 100 different varieties of apples each year. Not only do French apples offer delicious flavor, but their quality is also guaranteed through a rigorous quality control process.

“For over 25 years, French farmers have adopted environmentally friendly farming methods such as precision irrigation, using natural predators to control pests, and limiting the use of chemical pesticides. This both protects the ecosystem and ensures that every apple reaching the consumer is fresh, nutritious, and healthy,” an Interfel representative stated.

In 2024, despite facing numerous challenges from climate change, France maintained a stable apple production of 1.463 million tons.

Royal Gala boasts an eye-catching reddish-yellow skin, crisp, juicy flesh, and a sweet and slightly tart flavor, making it ideal for eating fresh or using in desserts like apple pie. Its natural aroma, reminiscent of bananas and pears, is what makes this apple variety so special.

Granny Smith apples are distinguished by their glossy green color and perfectly round shape. The white, crisp flesh and mild acidity provide a refreshing sensation from the first bite. A special feature is that the flesh doesn't brown when exposed to air, making Granny Smith apples an ideal ingredient for salads or light meals.

Juliet® is a distinctive organic French apple variety with a vibrant red color and a bright yellow base. The apples are naturally sweet, crisp, and juicy, perfect for enjoying fresh or using in desserts like apple tarts.

Pixie® apples are appealing with their unique green-yellow skin interspersed with red-orange stripes and a delicate aroma. The flesh is crisp, with a balanced sweet and sour taste that becomes even richer with age. According to Interfel, this is the ideal apple variety to enjoy at the end of the season, when the flavor reaches its peak.

Story® is a blend of Golden Delicious and Albemarle Pippin. Story® apples have a deep red skin with subtle stripes, crisp and juicy flesh. The flavor is delicate yet sophisticated with hints of pink pepper, cranberry, and sapodilla, making them suitable for long-term storage and enjoyment year-round.

With its distinctive flavor, nutritional value, and commitment to sustainable development, Interfel expects French apples to offer consumers a unique experience of a premium fruit product.
