Sharing at the Club's launch, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Magazine, said that Vietnam's rural tourism has three basic types: Community tourism, agricultural tourism and eco-tourism with the common feature that tourism activities are organized in rural areas.

“Supporting the development of rural tourism is to promote the internal strength of culture, lifestyle, and traditions of Vietnamese villages. Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Magazine wants to become a bridge connecting tourism workers across Vietnamese villages, contributing a small part in promoting the unique identity of the country's tourism,” Ms. Ha emphasized.
According to the National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the country has 1,300 local tourist areas and spots, of which about 70% are in rural areas. As of 2020, the country has more than 5,000 homestays (with about 2,000 establishments recognized as meeting standards). In 2020, the Tourism Administration issued national tourism standards, which is a corridor to help community tourism develop on the right track.
