Training on geriatric knowledge for elderly health care for medical population staff

Recently, Dong Da District Health Center coordinated with Hanoi Population Department to organize a training course to improve capacity of members of the Elderly Association on knowledge of elderly health care.

Within the framework of the training program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, Specialist of the Center for Training, Fostering and Providing Population Services, in the role of a reporter, conveyed important knowledge about comprehensive health care for the elderly; introduced intervention measures to improve the elderly's ability to function, establish appropriate exercise regimens, provide nutritional support, and encourage the elderly to participate in social activities;

The training content includes health care skills for the elderly, including communication skills, health counseling and basic first aid measures.

Overview of the training session

The program also reviewed current policies on elderly health care, emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups, and provided guidance on preventing common diseases in the elderly such as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.

During the training session, the trainees not only listened but also actively participated in discussions, exchanges and shared practical experiences in the process of taking care of the health of the elderly in the community.

This is a practical activity demonstrating the increasing concern and care for the health of the elderly in the district.

Activities to care for and improve the health of the elderly not only contribute to the successful completion of targets and goals in the work of caring for the health of the elderly, but also help the elderly live happily, healthily and usefully.
