Training to improve communication capacity to prevent tobacco harm

On the morning of November 14, 2025, at the People's Committee of Vo Lao commune, the Lao Cai Provincial Center for Disease Control coordinated with the Van Ban Regional Health Center to organize a communication training course to improve capacity in tobacco harm prevention in 2025. Attending the training course were 35 trainees who were Party cell secretaries, village heads, village health workers, representatives of village mass organizations, and prestigious people in the community.

At the training course, lecturers from the Center for Disease Control conveyed information about the harmful effects of tobacco use, passive smoking, and tobacco-related diseases. Introduced the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; Penalty regulations (according to the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and Decree 117/2020/ND-CP on penalties for administrative violations in the health sector).

The lecturer also presented the benefits of building a smoke-free environment; Criteria for a smoke-free environment. At the same time, organized for students to discuss building a smoke-free environment in residential areas.

The training session has strengthened and improved the capacity of village and residential group officials on tobacco harm prevention and control to more effectively implement tobacco harm prevention activities in the community.
