Busy at the construction site to open traffic and close the project on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday

Workers are carrying out the final stages, ensuring the project of upgrading and expanding DT746 road, the section from Tan Thanh intersection, Bac Tan Uyen district to Hoi Nghia intersection, Tan Uyen city will hold a traffic opening ceremony on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19).

These days, at the construction site of the upgrade and expansion of DT746 road, from Tan Thanh intersection, Bac Tan Uyen district to Hoi Nghia intersection, Tan Uyen city, officers, engineers and workers are working hard on the final stages to ensure the completion of the progress, in time for inauguration and traffic opening on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19). Mr. Tran Van Thanh, a worker on the DT746 road project, shared: "When the road was formed, paved with hot asphalt, straight and wide, planted with trees, and installed with an electric lighting system, we workers were very happy and proud to contribute to the construction of the road. In particular, the road was opened to traffic on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday, which is very meaningful."

Mr. Vu Hong Phong, Deputy General Director of Nguyen Cat Construction Investment Company, said that the project to upgrade and expand DT746 road, from Tan Thanh intersection, Bac Tan Uyen district to Hoi Nghia intersection, Tan Uyen city, is a key project of the province, passing through Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park 3. Therefore, to ensure the progress and quality of the project during the construction process, the company has focused on equipment, mobilized more than 300 officers, engineers, and workers to work overtime, working day and night with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", even on holidays and Tet. The construction unit closely monitored and urged officers, engineers, and workers to work actively, and now the project is ready to open to traffic on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday.

The project to upgrade and expand DT746 road is the main route leading to Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park 3, connecting the Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang dynamic road and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4. The project is 11,434m long, with a 38m wide roadbed, a 3m median strip; has a drainage system, sidewalks, trees, and lighting. The project has a total adjusted investment of VND 2,931 billion. After completion and put into use, the project will help shorten travel time and transport goods to important traffic hubs such as Long Thanh airport, Thi Vai port, Cai Mep, contributing to socio -economic development, attracting investment in the locality in particular and the region in general.

Regarding construction progress, in phase 1 of the project, the construction unit is constructing sidewalks, hot asphalt concrete (BTNN), trees, lighting (reaching 75% of the contract volume); in phase 2, the construction unit is constructing sidewalks, BTNN carpets, trees (reaching 92% of the contract volume); in phase 3, the unit has basically completed the hot asphalt concrete road surface, road painting, and sidewalk paving (the volume of work performed reaches 95% of the contract volume). Currently, the unit is implementing the construction of the 2nd discharge ditch, constructing traffic safety items such as signs, Km posts, H posts... the relocation of technical infrastructure has been basically completed.

Component 5 of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 through Binh Duong (including Tan Van intersection and Binh Goi bridge) has a total length of about 26.6km; investment scale of 8 expressway lanes, with parallel roads on both sides and corridors for green trees and technical infrastructure works. Binh Goi bridge across Saigon river (connecting An Son commune, Thuan An city, Binh Duong province with Binh My commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh city) belongs to package XL4 of Component 5. The bridge is 670m long, 17m wide, including 4 lanes. The project is being accelerated 24/24 hours to close on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19).

Mr. Phu Trong Tai, Commander of the construction unit - Truong Thanh Investment and Construction Trading Joint Stock Company, said that the entire structure of the lower part of the pedestal and piers of Binh Goi Bridge has been completed, the upper structure is in the process of installing beams. The construction unit has completed the K11 cantilever concrete item; on May 10, 2025, the first batch of KT1 concrete was poured; on May 15, 2025, the second batch of concrete was poured. On the Binh Duong side, there are 6 super T spans, 5 of which have been completed, the last span is preparing to install beams, and the installation of super T beams is expected to be completed before May 17. The construction unit is expected to join the two banks of Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City on May 19.

“To ensure progress, we are working in 3 shifts and 4 teams, speeding up the construction. Currently, there are 70 engineers and workers working day and night at the construction site to complete the progress, in time for the closing ceremony on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19),” said Mr. Phu Trong Tai.

Package XL1 for construction of Tan Van intersection under Component 5 of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project through Binh Duong area has reached the construction progress rate of 16.02% compared to the contracted volume; Package XL2 for construction of Binh Chuan intersection has reached the construction progress rate of 42.25% compared to the contracted volume; Package XL3 for the section from Binh Chuan to Saigon River has reached the construction progress rate of 30.739% compared to the contracted volume; Package XL4 for Binh Goi bridge has reached the construction progress rate of 68.08% compared to the contracted volume.
