For a long time, people have passed down the saying: "Without West Lake, Thang Long would not become the capital", meaning that without West Lake, Thang Long would not become the capital. This shows that West Lake has long held an important position in the capital.

Looking back to the past, with its prime location and poetic beauty that touched people's hearts, West Lake caught the eye of feudal dynasties and became a center of relaxation and entertainment. This was a place where kings, poets, talented men, and beauties flocked to have fun, enjoy, go boating, drink wine, watch flowers, watch the moon, and considered it a place to travel with poetic and charming scenery.

There are many other lakes in Thang Long, but none are as special as West Lake, and there are many famous historical sites around it. Up to now, following the flow of the Red River, carrying the historical and cultural roots of the Vietnamese people, Tay Ho district is named after West Lake and has gradually become a place with outstanding development potential.

It is not difficult to understand why the Hanoi government planned Tay Ho land to become one of two new administrative areas to house 13 embassies, relocate 5 ministries, 8 departments including: Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Construction along with dozens of offices of international organizations and entertainment centers - large office headquarters of Lotte, Samsung, Daewoo...

However, not all riverside areas have large land funds to implement many projects, not to mention the planning constraints that are placed on top.

Therefore, living near West Lake is still one of the wishes of many Hanoians, because of the rare landscape and geographical advantages of this livable land.
