“Tesla will look at an electric vehicle manufacturing facility, Microsoft and Google are looking at data centers,” Srettha Thavisin said, without specifying whether the expected $5 billion would be a combined investment or made separately by each company.

Mr Srettha spoke to reporters in Bangkok after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he also held talks with corporate executives earlier this week.
New foreign investment will boost Thailand's weakening economy , which is expected to grow 2.8% this year, lower than previously expected, due to weaker exports.
Prime Minister Srettha spoke with Tesla CEO Elon Musk last week about the electric vehicle sector.
Thailand, Asia's fourth-largest auto assembly hub, has offered incentives to electric vehicle and battery makers and cut taxes for domestic EV buyers to maintain its position as a regional auto hub.
