BANGKOK POST. Thailand has accepted the invitation to join BRICS as a partner country and hopes to become a full member of the organization in the future.

YONHAP. ​​South Korea's Defense Ministry has suspended an armored unit commander and a ministry official, marking the latest suspension of military officials following the declaration of martial law.

THX. South Korea's main opposition Democratic Party (DP) has submitted a motion to impeach Prime Minister Han Duck Soo and reported it to the National Assembly's plenary session.

AFP. Several Asian countries held ceremonies to remember the more than 220,000 victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami , one of the deadliest natural disasters in history.

AFP. Estonia plans to install a surveillance system along its entire border with Russia, at a cost of up to 157 million euros.

FRANCE 24. French authorities rescued 107 migrants trying to cross the English Channel to reach Britain.

ANADOLU. Luxembourg plans to step up checks on chocolate imports from Dubai, UAE and Turkey.

America

REUTERS. Mexico seized and destroyed more than 400,000 fentanyl pills , along with 6 tons of chemical ingredients to produce this drug.
