Thai Nguyen effectively supports Agent Orange victims

On June 26, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Thai Nguyen province held a conference to review 10 years of implementing Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated May 14, 2015 of the Secretariat of the 11th Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in resolving the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US during the war in Vietnam".

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 43-CT/TW, Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, socio- political organizations and people in the province have become more aware and have taken many practical activities to support victims of Agent Orange. The dissemination and implementation of the Directive has been carried out seriously and synchronously at all levels. The regimes and policies to support victims have been paid promptly, in accordance with regulations and subjects. The system of guiding documents has been fully supplemented, ensuring effective implementation of the policies of the Party and State.

The activities of the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin have undergone many innovations, affirming its role as a legal representative organization, protecting the rights and legitimate aspirations of its members. The Association also actively participates in foreign affairs activities, fighting for justice for the victims.

Movements such as “Action for Agent Orange victims”, “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims” have received widespread support in the political system and the whole society. Over the past 10 years, the total value of money and material support for victims in the province has reached over 92.3 billion VND, with specific forms of support such as: Visiting, giving gifts, building new houses, repairing houses, supporting livelihoods, medical examination and treatment, giving wheelchairs, savings books, books to children and grandchildren of victims in difficult circumstances...

On this occasion, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Directive 43-CT/TW.
