Korean guitar prodigy Sungha Jung to tour Vietnam

Korean guitar prodigy Sungha Jung will have a return tour to Vietnam after 5 years of absence.

The program includes three performances on July 14 at the Youth Theater (Hanoi); July 15 at VOH Music One Theater (Ho Chi Minh City) and July 16 at Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater (Da Nang). This is the first time Sungha Jung's tour in Vietnam has three nights of performances; contributing to enhancing cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea. The program promises to be an attractive cultural and artistic event for music lovers; a focal point attracting the Vietnamese fingerstyle guitar community in 2023. This is also the first time Sungha Jung has covered Vietnamese music on his YouTube channel - the hit "See tinh" by female singer Hoang Thuy Linh. As an excellent representative of the fingerstyle guitar genre, 27-year-old Sungha Jung promises to bring the audience a new, youthful, sophisticated, and emotional musical space with his compositions and arrangements. Fingerstyle Guitar (FS) is a unique new type of guitar, originating from the US, known in Vietnam in recent years. With the form of playing by only one person with a single guitar, it can bring the sound of an entire band; it is a complete breakthrough in technique, hand position, and visualization of the sound that a guitar can bring. Fingerstyle Guitar is the highest level of creativity, the player is free to create completely new techniques and hand positions, expressing his own color... Playing guitar proficiently since the age of 10, Sungha Jung was known as the "Korean guitar prodigy" and soon became famous, especially on YouTube with nearly 2 billion views and 7.1 million followers. Of the 15 awards he has won on YouTube, there are 6 "No.1" awards. Composing and arranging many songs with diverse styles, Sungha Jung released his 9th solo album in August 2022. His music easily captivates people, among which, the cover of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" soundtrack attracts the most attention with 64 million views. Sungha Jung is invited to collaborate with many famous artists in Korea and around the world...

To Vietnamese audiences, Sungha Jung is known and admired mainly through his music on YouTube for over 15 years. He is the first foreign fingerstyle guitarist to tour in Vietnam.

2023 is the 6th year that Wind Strings Music Company has cooperated with Tuoi Tre Theater and Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Organization (VNFS) to organize performances by international artists to promote the development of fingerstyle guitar in our country.
