Vietnam Martial Arts introduces new weight class, opening with 9 eye-catching matches

In 2025, GMA will have 8 events, including 4 Vietnamese Martial Arts events and 4 international Martial Arts events. The first event is scheduled to take place on May 17 at GMA Arena (HCMC) with 9 exciting and dramatic matches.

Martial artist Johnny Tri Nguyen - General Director of Than Vo Vietnam said: Witnessing the difficulties that martial artists encounter when approaching a complex and time-consuming sport like MMA, Than Vo this year continues to innovate by adding a new weight class called Duong Lang for martial artists in the 53kg category.

In addition, this year's Than Vo also welcomes "warriors" with the name of international Than Vo from countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia...

Previously, Than Vo Vietnam 2024 found 5 champions, representing 5 weight classes: Nguyen Hoang Thach (Black Panther); Bui Truong Sinh (Golden Rooster); Mui Trong Vinh (Eagle); Nguyen Vu Phuong Hoai (Black Panther) and Ha The Anh (Ferocious Tiger).

The highlight of the competition night on May 17 was the performance of two veteran boxers with a very ornate fighting style: Tran Minh Nhut of Lien Phong Martial Arts School and Tran Trong Kim of PFC Phu Quoc.

In the Duong Lang class (53kg), there will be an uncompromising battle for 8 fighters, specifically: Truong Quang Kiet of PFC Phu Quoc against Huynh Quang Thien of Tanmonster Combat; Nguyen Huu Nghia of team 404 against Bui Xuan Nguyen of Lien Phong Martial Arts School; Dang Quoc Quang of No.1 Muay against Phan Ngoc Hieu of Ha Dong MMA; Especially the appearance of World Muay and Asian Muay Champion Le Hoang Duc of team 404 against Luong Trong Nghia of MMA Saigon.
