Barcelona boosts spending after winning the championship

According to ESPN , Barcelona plans to recruit a central defender, a defender and a winger, in order to improve their competitiveness in the Champions League next season.

Sporting director Deco and his team have drawn up a number of options for each position, depending on the funds available this summer. Barcelona are facing financial constraints, but can still increase their transfer budget by selling players who are not part of their plans.

Up front, Deco wants to add a winger to back up Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Names like Marcus Rashford, Nico Williams and Luis Díaz are of interest to Barcelona.

Among these, the Rashford deal has received great expectations when MU is ready to let the English striker leave for a fee of nearly 50 million euros. However, Barcelona has to compete with Aston Villa.

In defence, Jonathan Tah is the option to consider. However, Bayern Munich are the team that has the upper hand in this deal. Barca wanted to sign the German centre-back for many months. However, with Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia still at Camp Nou, the team at Camp Nou does not have enough space in the salary fund to welcome Tah.

On the wings, Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde have been in fine form this season. But Barcelona could still sign defenders to add depth to their squad. Marc Pubill (Almeria) and Andrei Ratiu (Rayo Vallecano) are on Barcelona's radar.

In the goalkeeper position, Deco highly values Leo Roman of Mallorca. Roman has a transfer fee of only 12 million euros. He can be recruited by Barcelona and loaned out to gain more playing experience.

The Catalan team is likely to keep most of its key players for the new season. However, Frenkie de Jong or Ansu Fati could leave if the team receives a suitable offer.
