The Vietnamese women's team has temporarily climbed to the top of Group D of the 19th ASIAD women's football tournament after a resounding 6-1 victory over Bangladesh in the early match of the second round.

The Vietnamese women's team had no difficulty winning a resounding 6-1 victory over the Bangladesh women's team in the second match of Group D of the 19th ASIAD women's football event.
Captain Hai Yen helped Vietnam get off to a good start with the opening goal 1-0 in the 5th minute. This was also Hai Yen's second goal at ASIAD 19.
In the 34th minute, Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang ran down and flicked the ball over the head of the Bangladesh goalkeeper, putting the Vietnamese team ahead 2-0.
In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung's students continued to increase pressure and continuously scored against their opponents.
Tran Thi Duyen comfortably finished hard in the penalty area to score the goal to raise the score to 3-0 for the Vietnamese women's team.
In the 71st minute, Bich Thuy took a free kick and sent the ball straight into the Bangladesh team's net, raising the score to 4-0 for Vietnam.
7 minutes later, Thai Thi Thao scored a superb long-range shot into the Bangladesh team's net to raise the score to 5-0 for the Vietnamese team.
Less than 3 minutes later, Bich Thuy completed her double with a difficult header to increase the gap to 6-0 against the Bangladesh team.
In the final minutes, Bangladesh played with determination and got an honorable goal in the 87th minute from the 11m mark by Parvin Masura.
This victory helped the Vietnamese women's team get 6 points (goal difference +7), temporarily surpassing the Japanese women's team to top Group D of women's football.
The top spot is likely to return to the defending champions after they play Nepal in the match taking place at 6:30 p.m. today. In the opening match, Japan had a resounding 8-0 victory over Bangladesh.
