Thanh Hoa spends more than 37 billion VND to support contract teachers

TPO - The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just signed a decision approving a budget of more than 37 billion VND to support localities in paying contract teachers.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province decided to approve additional budget estimates to support localities in paying teachers and contract workers (phase 2, 2024) with a total budget estimate of more than 37 billion VND.

This is a source of funding fromthe education , training and vocational training expenditure source in the provincial budget estimate for 2024 (supplementing teachers according to the provincial payroll quota; recruiting contract teachers according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP dated December 30, 2022 of the Government; handling surplus teachers and some other subsidies, allowances, and educational policies).

The decision clearly states that the Department of Finance is fully responsible before the law and competent authorities for the accuracy and legality of reported data and ensuring conditions, standards and norms in accordance with regulations; coordinate with responsible units to inspect, control and implement professional procedures for funding allocation to localities to ensure completeness, timeliness and compliance with regulations...

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper had many articles reflecting on the shortage of teachers and financial support, causing some schools in the mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa to temporarily suspend some subjects such as English, Music, Information Technology... In the face of the above situation, localities have promptly had solutions such as arranging for teachers to teach in inter-schools, increase periods, increase hours...; at the same time, continue to have plans to recruit teachers, to ensure the school year program according to regulations.
