Landslide, thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil poured down National Highway 12C in Vung Ang

On the morning of November 4, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company (located in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ha Tinh province) said that at about 7:15 a.m. the same day, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, a landslide occurred in the mountainous area near the company.

According to initial information, at the above time, a part of the mountainside of Da Bon mountain range located close to National Highway 12C suddenly collapsed.

The landslide caused nearly 5,000 cubic meters of rock and soil, and large trees from the mountain to fall down, blocking the entire road leading to Vung Ang port area, causing traffic disruption.

In addition, some other locations have cracks, with the risk of further landslides as the rain continues to worsen.

Machinery of Lao - Viet International Port Joint Stock Company was mobilized to support landslide treatment.

Immediately after discovery, Lao - Viet International Port Joint Stock Company immediately reported to the People's Committee of Vung Ang ward and the road management agency, and urgently mobilized vehicles and machinery to the scene to support handling the landslide.

Vung Ang Ward quickly dispatched forces to the scene, put up warning signs, and remotely controlled traffic, while mobilizing vehicles and excavators to quickly deploy measures to overcome landslides and clear the route early that day, to ensure that travel and transportation of goods through the Vung Ang port area were not interrupted.

Authorities are working hard to overcome the landslide to soon clear the road.

Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, hundreds of cubic meters of rock, soil, and mud at some locations on high mountains next to the coastal road in Ha Tinh province have collapsed, spilling onto the road, causing traffic disruption. Immediately after receiving the information, local authorities and functional forces came to set up barriers, put up warning signs at both ends at the landslide locations to ensure safety, and mobilized machinery to clean up.
