On December 15, 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision on the establishment of the Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control in the province, aiming to effectively implement the National Strategy for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control until 2030.

The Steering Committee is tasked with developing plans, organizing implementation, inspecting, monitoring, and urging the implementation of the contents of the National Strategy for Tobacco Control until 2030 throughout the province, ensuring coordinated, inter-sectoral, and effective implementation.

The establishment of the Provincial Steering Committee for Tobacco Control is an important step towards the comprehensive and effective implementation of solutions to protect public health, gradually control and minimize the harmful effects of tobacco, and move towards a safe and healthy living environment.
