Establishment of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan has just signed a decision to establish the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Dak Lak province (referred to as the Steering Committee).

According to the decision, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van is the Head of the Steering Committee; Mr. Nguyen Huu Suu, Vice Chairman in charge of the Red Cross Society, is the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee; Deputy Director of the Department of Health Pham Thi Minh Hien and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thao Giang are the Deputy Heads of the Committee.

The Standing Office of the Steering Committee is located at the Dak Lak Provincial Red Cross Society. The Steering Committee Office has its own account and seal.

According to the decision, the Steering Committee is responsible for promulgating operating regulations and assigning specific tasks to each member of the Steering Committee. Planning and directing the implementation of voluntary blood donation campaigns in the province to communes, wards, agencies, units, businesses, and schools to ensure enough blood for the treatment and care of patients throughout the province. Developing programs, action plans, and annual budget estimates for submission to competent authorities for approval.

Organize propaganda to mobilize people to participate in voluntary blood donation, organize provincial and national activities on voluntary blood donation; summarize and evaluate, exchange experiences, update information on voluntary blood donation. Check, supervise and urge the implementation of targets and tasks of voluntary blood donation mobilization in the whole province.

Organize training courses for volunteers to participate in voluntary blood donation; establish clubs and teams for blood donation, rare blood types... Carry out emulation and reward activities for individuals and organizations with achievements in voluntary blood donation, honoring voluntary blood donors.

According to the plan, in 2026, the whole province will continue to promote propaganda on voluntary blood donation and human organ donation in many diverse forms, contributing to raising awareness and knowledge of all classes of people, especially people in remote areas, rural areas, ethnic minority areas about voluntary blood donation, blood transfusion safety and human organ and tissue donation. Strive to achieve the target of mobilizing and receiving blood in 2026 to reach 39,230 units of blood.
