Currently, the province has 2 industrial parks with an area of about 492 hectares, reaching an occupancy rate of over 93.32% in Chau Thanh and Chau Thanh A districts (Song Hau Industrial Park - phase 1 about 291 hectares, 100% filled and Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park - phase 1 about 201 hectares, 86% filled), the remaining area of about 23 hectares is arranging public investment capital to carry out site clearance, and will soon call for investors to soon fill 100%.
Agricultural processing enterprises are a priority attraction of the province.
In the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030 approved by the Central Appraisal Council, in the period 2021-2030, the province will establish 7 new industrial parks with a total area of 1,741 hectares in Chau Thanh district, Chau Thanh A district and Phung Hiep district. In the immediate future, on April 28, 2023, the Prime Minister approved the addition of 2 industrial parks to the planning for the development of industrial parks in the province, namely Dong Phu 2 Industrial Park and Song Hau 2 Industrial Park, with an area of 614 hectares; it is expected that in 2023, it will attract investors in industrial park infrastructure and start construction of the project, and it is expected that within 24 months, the infrastructure will be completed and secondary investors will be attracted to invest. In addition, the province has newly established 5 industrial and handicraft clusters, along with 5 industrial and handicraft clusters in operation, with a total area of 10 clusters of about 569 hectares.
