On July 14, at The Grand Ho Tram Strip Resort, the founding ceremony of the Vietnam Boxing Organization (VBO) took place. During this ceremony, VBO also signed strategic cooperation agreements with major professional boxing organizations in Asia such as Japan, the Philippines, Korea, China, etc.

In recent years, Vietnamese professional boxing has developed extremely strongly, causing a big echo in the world arena and creating historical milestones for the country's martial arts. For example, female boxer Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi won the WBO world mini-flyweight belt, Dinh Hong Quan won the IBF Asia belt...

In addition, international professional boxing events are also continuously held, attracting the attention of many fans, typically tournaments organized by Cocky Buffalo and famous promoter Kim Sang Bum.

This requires a boxing organization in Vietnam with scale and influence with international organizations to help domestic boxers easily compete abroad, protect their rights or make complaints when there are unfavorable results.

At the same time, it creates conditions for Vietnamese coaches, managers, referees and judges to have the opportunity to work in international tournaments. That is why the Vietnam Boxing Organization was born.

In particular, the biggest goal that VBO wants to bring is to build a "professional Boxing economy " environment, helping boxers earn a large income from continuous competition as well as turning professional Boxing into a business that brings great economic value in Vietnam, something that countries like Japan and the Philippines have been doing.

Launching Ceremony of Vietnam Boxing Organization (VBO)

Mr. Lim Song - Chairman of VBO - shared: "In Japan, there are about 20 Boxing events every month and in the Philippines about 15 events. These countries earn about 300 million USD every month thanks to Boxing-related activities such as air tickets, tourism for foreign audiences, selling Boxing-related items or selling tickets to watch matches... Therefore, I hope that with the establishment of VBO, it will help build a Boxing economy in Vietnam, bringing Boxing in Vietnam to a new level".

Sharing the values that VBO can bring to domestic boxers, Mr. Lim Song said: "With the support of VBO, Vietnamese boxers will easily go abroad to compete in professional events with great frequency. This helps boxers earn high income and continuously compete."

"I affirm that the potential of Vietnamese boxers is very large, especially in the small weight classes. We can absolutely have professional world champions if boxers have enough money to pursue their passion as well as compete regularly abroad. VBO will help Vietnamese boxers do this," Mr. Lim Song added.

The appearance of organizations like VBO will, together with federations, further develop boxing in localities in Vietnam."

"On the side of the Sports Department, we will create the best conditions for Boxing in Vietnam to develop, create many domestic and international playgrounds for boxers, and help simplify procedures and paperwork. We will also support organizations to invite experts, referees or international boxing stars to Vietnam. In addition, we will also support Vietnamese boxers to have more conditions to compete abroad as well as international boxers to compete in Vietnam more easily," Mr. Vinh added.
