This activity is part of the series of activities of the Communication Campaign to promote gender equality with the theme "Ethnic minority youth take the lead in changing gender stereotypes for development aspirations". The campaign is part of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children", the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Phase 1: From 2021 - 2025 (abbreviated as National Target Program 1719).
60 ethnic minority students from 6 universities in the Central and Central Highlands regions participated in exchanges, demonstrations of initiatives and communication activities. The content focused on the theme of gender equality in the field of education and training and in the family; focused on raising awareness of gender equality, promoting the elimination of backward customs in the community, and solving urgent problems for women, youth and children. The teams performed initiatives in the form of dramatization such as skits, poems, folk songs, short films, video clips, and photos produced and performed by the students themselves.
At the Program, the teams brought impressive performances, meaningful messages, high applicability and associated with the cultural characteristics of ethnic minorities in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Many initiatives and communication products will be shared and replicated to raise awareness among young people, university students and in the localities where they live.
With creative ideas and modern, youthful, and youth-appropriate message delivery, the performances were highly appreciated by the organizers for their applicability and can be widely used in community communication programs. The students themselves will be active propagandists, pioneers in changing perceptions, gradually eliminating harmful customs in life and continuing to have appropriate initiatives to contribute with their families, schools, and communities to build an equal and developing living environment.
Through the program, initiatives and good practices in propaganda work to raise awareness for ethnic minority youth and students about gender equality, eliminating backward customs, preserving and promoting good traditional cultural customs of ethnic minorities will be spread.
