At the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site, a delegation of overseas Vietnamese youth and students came to lay wreaths, offer incense, and respectfully bow to commemorate the great contributions of generations of ancestors who sacrificed their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. Located on the banks of the Thach Han River, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel has entered the history of the Vietnamese revolutionary struggle with the fierce 81-day and night battle to defend the citadel. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel is considered a cemetery without graves, the common grave of tens of thousands of soldiers who fell for their homeland, for the peace and unification of the country.

Next, the overseas youth and student delegation performed the flower lantern releasing ceremony on Thach Han River to pay tribute and commemorate the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the Fatherland. During the 2023 summer camp program in Quang Tri, the overseas youth and student delegation visited and offered flowers and incense at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery; visited and learned about the history of the Hien Luong Bridge - Ben Hai River National Special Relic Site; the Vinh Moc Tunnels National Special Relic Site and the Vinh Linh Tunnel Village System. The delegates visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Vinh Linh District and visited the Quang Tri Mine Action and Overcoming Consequences Exhibition Center.

Returning to the sacred land of Quang Tri, the participants of the "Vietnam Summer Camp 2023" understand more about the country, people, history and revolutionary heroism of the nation. From there, overseas Vietnamese youth are aware of their responsibility for the development of the country and preserving the national roots, especially the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", raising awareness in promoting Vietnamese culture, history, country and people to international friends.

Vietnam Summer Camp 2023, with the theme "Vietnamese Youth Together Reaching the Future," took place from July 18 to August 2, passing through 10 provinces and cities of Vietnam, attracting the participation of 120 young people and students who are Vietnamese people living abroad from 26 countries and territories around the world. These are typical young faces in the fields of study, sports , arts, etc. who have made many contributions to the movement of building a united community and have outstanding activities towards the homeland, selected from the Vietnamese community in countries around the world. The program contributes to affirming the consistent policy of the Party and State that "The Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese national community", and at the same time shows concern for the young generation of overseas Vietnamese.
On July 29, the delegation of "Vietnam Summer Camp 2023" continued to visit the La Vang Pilgrimage Center (Hai Phu Commune, Hai Lang District). After that, the delegation will move to Thua Thien Hue Province to continue the series of activities of Vietnam Summer Camp 2023.
