Promote the role of authorities at all levels, management agencies, social organizations and consumer supervision in compliance with food safety laws for individuals, food production and trading establishments. At the same time, improve the capacity to prevent and proactively handle food poisoning and food-borne diseases in the community.

According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health , Vu Cao Cuong: Hanoi is the first locality in the country to implement the "Month of action for food safety in 2024" from April 15 to May 15, 2024 throughout the city. Along with regular activities on ensuring food safety, the Month of action will focus on handling food safety violations and minimizing food poisoning, especially when summer is coming.
In addition to the four city-level interdisciplinary inspection teams, districts, towns, communes, wards and townships also established inspection teams. In particular, the health sector focuses on inspecting food service establishments, street food; collective kitchens in schools, industrial parks; establishments producing and trading drinking water, bottled water, and ready-to-use ice according to decentralization.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Food Safety Steering Committee, Vu Thu Ha said: Food safety is always a very "hot" and complicated issue. In addition, the tricks of violators are increasingly sophisticated, requiring close coordination of relevant functional units to prevent and handle.
Therefore, to effectively implement the Action Month, the City People's Committee requests the government and functional agencies to ensure the substance of inspection and examination work; especially focusing on inspections in areas and establishments where violations are likely to occur. When violations are detected, they must be thoroughly handled in accordance with the provisions of law.
Localities promote the development of programs, projects, pilot models, and topics on food safety; continue to implement approved programs, projects, pilot models, and topics on food safety, and propose to replicate activities that have been implemented and evaluated as effective. At the same time, proactively research and develop new activities on food safety to ensure practicality and suitability with the current status of food safety work in the city...
On the other hand, the authorities should step up propaganda work to raise awareness and consciousness of people, production and business establishments and management agencies in the area; communicate and introduce effective models in controlling and ensuring food safety so that people know.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Health: The entire city currently has more than 70 thousand establishments producing, processing, trading food, catering services, and street food. Of these, there are more than 10 thousand food production establishments, nearly 25,500 food businesses, more than 35 thousand catering services establishments, and more than 5,800 street food businesses.
In 2023, the city established 699 inspection teams. The number of inspected establishments was 18,822, of which 16,106 establishments passed (accounting for 85.3%), 2,776 establishments violated.
