In order to promptly handle health-related situations as well as incidents that may occur during the celebration, parade, and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the local hospitals have prepared plans to respond to emergency situations.

Military Hospital 175 has arranged 17 members, including doctors, nurses, drivers and logistics staff, divided into 3 teams in 3 different areas within the Celebration grounds. The teams support each other from the inside out, ready to handle emergency situations and incidents if they occur, such as fires, explosions, grandstand collapses, etc. The first team is on duty at 12 medical tents, ensuring emergency care for soldiers and parade participants.

The second team is on duty next to the field ambulance, which is fully equipped like a mini emergency room with a ventilator, electric shock machine, monitor, etc. The third team is on duty at the field medical station at the Institute of Biomedical Physics near the grandstand. The station has 15 beds, and is responsible for receiving, classifying, and screening patients on the spot. Severe cases will be transferred to the intensive care area for monitoring.

Thong Nhat Hospital also deployed 4 outpatient medical teams to take care of the health of senior officials attending the anniversary activities. The hospital proactively prepared enough medicine, hospital beds, medical supplies and equipment necessary for treatment.

In addition, the hospital has established 3 disaster emergency teams and 2 rapid response teams that are always on standby, ensuring the ability to respond quickly and effectively when situations arise.

Cho Ray Hospital's leadership said they have prepared medical equipment, medicine, hospital beds, blood supplies, and two ambulance teams to respond to medical emergencies.

The hospital has also prepared some areas with 15-20 beds to ensure emergency care for people and soldiers participating in the parade. In addition, Cho Ray Hospital has also arranged a VIP emergency team for leaders and revolutionary veterans, led by heads and deputy heads of specialized departments.

Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has directed hospitals and medical facilities both public and private to coordinate with the medical forces of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to ensure the highest efficiency in the task of taking care of the health of leaders, delegations, parades, visitors and all people participating in events and activities within the framework of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

In addition, the Department of Health also deploys emergency scenarios in the community to proactively respond. Specifically, the 115 Emergency Center closely coordinates with the Military Medical Department and hospitals of ministries/sectors to arrange forces and have strict emergency plans in 3 areas (on-site - grandstand area, buffer zone, reserve), designing emergency flows suitable to the actual conditions of each hospital and the current traffic system, ensuring that patients are brought to the nearest medical facility quickly, safely and effectively.

The 115 Emergency Center and 44 satellite emergency stations are ready with ambulances fully equipped with emergency equipment and medicine for emergency care for people in the community, and 20 more two-wheeled ambulances are mobilized to be on standby in the buffer zone to be ready for emergency situations in crowded areas where ambulances have difficulty accessing the scene. The Department of Health has requested 146 Red Cross first aid stations to be ready to provide first aid on April 30.

The Department of Health requested the City Center for Disease Control to ensure disease prevention and control during the series of events and activities of the Anniversary; coordinate with medical facilities and the Department of Food Safety to strictly inspect food hygiene and safety from the stage of purchasing raw materials to the process of transporting, preserving, processing and using food; promote activities to ensure food hygiene and safety at hotels, accommodation establishments, conference venues and anniversary activities.

Hospitals and medical facilities in the city are also required to assign and arrange forces to participate in the medical teams at the parade and marching locations according to the allocation diagram; at the same time, review and supplement sufficient medicine and medical equipment, arrange forces at the unit, and be ready to receive treatment when necessary. In addition, assign medical staff to be on duty in situations when required to strengthen emergency care outside the hospital./.
