Ho Chi Minh City supports Hue with 20 billion VND to overcome storms and floods

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc shared the damage caused by floods and natural disasters in Hue city in recent times, and affirmed that this affection and support shows the heart of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards the people of the Central region, contributing to helping the people of Hue city soon stabilize their lives, restore production and daily activities after natural disasters.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Phuoc Loc hopes: “Through this support, the two localities will continue to strengthen their close relationship, affection, sharing, and companionship in social security work and sustainable development. With the tradition of solidarity, mutual love and determination of the entire political system, Hue city will soon overcome difficulties, stabilize people's lives, and continue to develop worthy of its position as a cultural and tourist center of the country."

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, said that Hue will allocate and use support resources effectively, for the right purposes, and in a timely manner to households heavily affected by natural disasters, helping people to soon stabilize their lives; at the same time, he hopes that the solidarity, attachment and affection between the two localities will become increasingly strong, continuing to spread the good values of mutual love and affection, joining hands for the sustainable development of each city.

On this occasion, from the 20 billion VND support, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation donated 300 million VND to repair Tay Loc Kindergarten; supported 200 million VND for two households whose houses collapsed in Loc An commune; presented gifts to 78 poor households in Phu Xuan ward, each household received gifts worth 500,000 VND and 1.5 million VND; presented support to 20 preschool children, each received gifts worth 500,000 VND and 1.5 million VND.

On the same day, Vietinbank Insurance Company also presented 140 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City to support Hue people to overcome storms and floods.

According to the report, as of November 9, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City has received support from individuals, units and organizations with an amount of more than 88.8 billion VND; along with thousands of gifts of goods, equipment and items to support people in the flood-hit area of Hue.
