A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that applying AI in the field of obstetrics and gynecology will open up a new direction for grassroots health care to approach early diagnosis of cervical cancer.
"That is the potential to look forward to when deploying artificial intelligence application in cervical cancer screening, called CerviCare AI.
This system is trained on a huge dataset of more than 100,000 cervical images, including both normal and abnormal images, the cervical image analysis system uses artificial intelligence to help detect early signs of cervical cancer." said a representative of the Department of Health.
It is known that this AI application was created by an innovative startup company in Korea. This application will soon be tested at specialized obstetrics hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
Some specific results of clinical trials for the TeleCervicography solution of the CerviCare AI product: Accuracy in detecting early stage cervical cancer: 98%, Accuracy in detecting other abnormalities on the cervix: 95%, Image analysis time: 5 minutes.
CerviCare AI is a new technology that has the potential to improve the effectiveness of cervical cancer screening and early detection.
In addition to Korea, some countries have begun approving the use of this application in medical facilities (such as Japan, Taiwan, Thailand).
The Japan Food and Drug Administration (PMDA) approved the use of CerviCare AI in Japan in January 2023, and the system is currently being used in a number of hospitals and clinics in the country.
The advantages of CerviCare AI have been tested in several countries: CerviCare AI can detect early signs of cervical cancer, even when these signs are not yet visible to the naked eye. This helps increase the chances of successful treatment for patients.
At the same time, early detection of cervical cancer will help reduce costs and treatment time for patients.
CerviCare AI helps popularize cervical cancer screening services, especially in economically disadvantaged areas.
