At many hotels, room occupancy has reached maximum, leading to increased prices compared to normal days.
According to our survey, in central districts such as District 1, District 3, District 4, the number of hotel bookings has increased dramatically since the beginning of April. Up to now, most hotels from budget to luxury have announced "no rooms" during the peak days of the holiday season.
At 3-4 star hotels in the central area, room rates have also increased significantly compared to normal days, double rooms range from 1,200,000 VND to 2,500,000 VND/night, an increase of about 30-50%.
5-star hotels range from VND 3,000,000 to VND 7,000,000/night, depending on room type and amenities.
Not only high-end hotels, but also motels and budget hotels in suburban districts such as District 5, District 10, Tan Binh also increased by 20-40%, ranging from 400,000 VND to 800,000 VND/night.
Ms. Nguyen Anh Dao, manager of a 3-star hotel on Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1, shared: "Our hotel has been fully booked for more than two weeks. The number of guests booking rooms this year is higher than previous years, perhaps due to the long holiday and many people wanting to come to participate in commemorative activities."
Due to the sudden increase in the number of guests booking rooms, many hotels have to mobilize staff to work overtime and hire more people to serve guests, so hotel prices during these days are higher than usual.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, a tourist from Hanoi, said that because she booked a room a bit late, all the hotels in the city center were fully booked, so she rented a hotel near the airport. The room rate was higher than originally planned but acceptable because her family wanted to travel during this time.
Luxury hotels are also preparing. many dishes bearing the imprint of local culture to serve tourists. Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Hien, Director of Kim Do Hotel, said that the hotel has a menu of dishes such as: perch vermicelli, oxtail tendon pho, wine sauce and drinks made from fresh fruit, helping tourists enjoy many delicious dishes on this April 30th holiday.
Ms. Dang Thi Ha Phuong, Head of Sales and Marketing Department of Hotel Grand Saigon, also said that the dishes chosen by the hotel to include in the menu are typical dishes of different regions, such as: Dak Lak corn noodle soup; Nghe An eel soup; My Long noodle soup ( Ben Tre ); My Tho noodle soup... helping international guests have the opportunity to enjoy dishes of different regions of Vietnam.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that 3-5 star hotels in neighboring areas still have vacant rooms. The department has coordinated with districts and towns in the outskirts of the center to provide names and phone numbers of hotels with available rooms on social networks and websites so that tourists can proactively search for suitable accommodation during their tour.
