In its infancy, Hoa Binh town faced many difficulties, the enemy patrolled, searched, and arrested cadres and the masses in an attempt to strangle the revolutionary movement. However, all our activities were still carried out safely, the movement was not only not suppressed but also grew stronger and stronger. The climax of the General Uprising in our province was the uprising of the people of Hoa Binh town on August 22, 1945, which completely collapsed the puppet government apparatus of the province. A large number of soldiers and civil servants publicly expressed their support for the revolution, but the puppet governor remained stubborn. At 2:00 p.m. on August 23, 1945, with the support of the insurgent army from the war zones, the crossing of the Da River to seize the provincial government began. The crossing took place in a heroic atmosphere. The revolutionary forces and the large number of people of Hoa Binh - Thinh Lang communes enthusiastically entered the barracks and offices of the puppet government of the province. Faced with that situation, the Governor was frightened and surrendered to the revolution.
At 4:00 p.m. on August 23, 1945, a rally to welcome the provincial provisional revolutionary committee was held right at the government office's yard. The next day, under the direction of the provincial executive committee, the provincial uprising command and the provincial provisional revolutionary committee, the party cell, the Viet Minh Front and the provisional revolutionary committee of Hoa Binh town held a large rally at Phuong Lam market in the boundless joy of the people, because from now on they could be the masters of their lives.
Continuing the revolutionary autumn spirit, over the past 79 years, Hoa Binh town (now Hoa Binh city) has grown and developed in all aspects. Phuong Lam ward has now changed, becoming the central ward of Hoa Binh city. The government and people of the ward have been implementing the construction of a civilized ward, a model urban area, focusing on implementing unachieved criteria, maintaining achieved criteria; directing residential groups to build, maintain and improve the quality of the title of model residential group.
Hoa Binh City today has made great strides, demonstrating the height of a central urban area. The city is becoming more and more beautiful, civilized, and people's lives are becoming more and more prosperous and happy. The socio-economic situation has improved a lot, and the urban appearance is becoming more and more spacious and modern.
In the first 6 months of this year alone, the state budget revenue in the area is estimated at 255.5 billion VND; new jobs have been created for over 2,400 workers; the poverty rate has decreased to 1.6%. The city has 7/7 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 3 communes have achieved advanced new rural standards. The city's Party Committee and government continue to effectively use resources, speed up the progress of key and strategic projects; prioritize the strong development of digital transformation, improve the business environment; support businesses, develop economic sectors; improve the effectiveness of administrative reform...
Along with creating breakthroughs in infrastructure, urban space is gradually synchronized, serving people's lives and meeting new development needs, the city also focuses on investing and embellishing key cultural works, building architectural and cultural highlights, gradually forming a cultural space of the city by the river of light in many rich and diverse ways.
Urban beautification projects, drainage system expansion, traffic infrastructure upgrades, etc. are being accelerated and urgently completed. The city is focusing on completing the 1/10,000 scale urban master plan until 2045, taking the Da River axis as the central development axis; at the same time, developing along both sides of the Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh City route. At the same time, developing the landscape and architecture on both sides of the Da River to develop tourism , services, and trade in a specific direction...
