Attending the meeting were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, leaders of the Department of Information and Communications and local press agencies. On Vinh City's side, there was comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee and representatives of the city's departments and offices.
In 2023, Vinh city will carry out socio -economic development tasks in the context of economic downturn, sharp decline in the real estate market, difficulties in investment, trade and service activities, etc., affecting production, business and people's lives. However, the city's socio -economy has basically developed stably, achieving many important results.
The city's economic growth rate reached 9.27%, higher than the province and the whole country, and the economic structure shifted in the right direction. Budget collection solutions have been implemented drastically and synchronously since the beginning of the year. Total budget revenue was 4,267.3 billion VND, reaching 214% of the province's estimate, up 18.3% over the same period. Average income per capita reached 133.2 million VND/person/year.
The city focuses on implementing Plan No. 18/KH-UBND on supporting and activating economic development of Vinh city in the new situation; focusing on solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating a favorable business environment for economic sectors to develop and promoting investment attraction. During the year, 3,048 enterprises and business households were newly established and the "City Business Association" was established.
In particular, the city focused on directing drastically, mobilizing many resources to deploy and organize activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vinh city's founding, and the 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the people.
In 2023, there were more than 800 news and articles related to Vinh city, of which 32 news and articles needed to be checked and clarified. The information reflected by the press sent directly or transferred by other sources was received by the City People's Committee, directed to be checked, resolved and responded to promptly.
Comrade Tran Thi Cam Tu - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee acknowledged and thanked the attention and support of the press and media agencies for the city. In addition to information evaluating and disseminating the results as well as difficulties and obstacles in performing the city's tasks, the press also reflected on the remaining problems in management, direction and operation; many cases were investigated by the press agencies with a high sense of responsibility, clear information content, creating positive and practical social effects in many fields.
Comrade Tran Thi Cam Tu also hopes that in 2024, the press agencies will continue to accompany the city, focusing on implementing key projects and works such as: Vinh City Development Project to 2030, vision to 2045; Project "Priority infrastructure and urban development adapting to climate change in Vinh City"; urban development planning and projects, project to expand the city's administrative boundaries, project to build "City of Light", smart city,... so that people can grasp, understand, support and join hands, unanimously implement; build a rich, beautiful, civilized, developed, friendly and livable Vinh city.
