Delegates share experiences on solutions to preserve heritage and promote sustainable tourism |
The meeting was attended by representatives of about 20 member cities, established on the joint initiative of the Mayors of Paris and Quebec 45 years ago. AIMF has been affirming its role as an indispensable space for exchange and cooperation between French-speaking cities, and at the same time becoming a strategic partner in supporting the implementation of sustainable urban development projects.
With the theme “Heritage and Sustainable Tourism”, delegates shared challenges and strategies related to promoting the value of tangible heritage from the perspective of sustainable tourism development. Leaders and representatives of professional agencies shared experiences, analyzed public policies, conservation mechanisms and local initiatives to preserve and promote heritage sites.
Gathering in the historic city of Hue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Mayors focused on issues related to heritage conservation and promoting sustainable tourism. Therefore, the international conference on these issues will allow Mayors and experts to share their experiences and visions, which is also an important contribution to Hue, the host city of Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2025.

Not only closely linked to the goals of green economy , environmental protection and climate change adaptation, sustainable urban areas also require the active participation of the community in preserving cultural heritage, promoting green tourism, and innovation in urban management.
