Green grassland in the heart of Tri An lake

VnExpressVnExpress15/05/2023

In the middle of the drying Tri An lake, there are large patches of green grass sprouting like a miniature prairie, attracting visitors to check in.

Tri An Lake is 32,000 hectares wide, located between Dinh Quan, Thong Nhat, Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu districts of Dong Nai . Currently, the lake bed is dry, cracked and cracked. But some areas are covered with green grass, creating vast grasslands, a relaxing spot for many tourists to Dong Nai. Tri An Lake is about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City.

From above, a small stream runs through green grass patches in the middle of the lake. Here and there are remaining water holes.

To go in the middle of the lake, because there is no road, if you want to find beautiful grass patches, you have to use a motorbike. However, in some places the ground is weak, causing the motorbike to get stuck in the mud, so you have to push it on foot.

About 10 km from the shore in Phu Ly commune, Vinh Cuu district, there is a clump of green grass about 10 hectares wide, about 10 cm high, thick and smooth. This is also the place where Dong Nai people and some tourists from neighboring provinces come to check in on the weekend.

Many photographers come to take beautiful photos. "Because the lake is far away and there is no place to stay, anyone who wants to come here to take photos should remember to bring snacks, drinks and a raincoat in case a sudden storm comes," said Mr. Chien, a tourist from Bien Hoa City.

Mr. Loc from Long Thanh district, an amateur photographer, was excited about the green scenery in the middle of Tri An lake. "Although the road to the middle of the lake is very difficult, when I got there and saw the grass field, I thought the effort was not wasted at all," said Mr. Loc.
According to locals, at the beginning of the rainy season, the grass will grow until the lake water rises, about 2-3 months from now. "Locals know this area but did not think it would be so beautiful when taking photos from above," said Toan, a fisherman in Phu Ly commune, Vinh Cuu district.

In addition to the grass patches in the middle of the lake, on the islands of Tri An Lake, plants have also begun to sprout after the cooling rains. Mr. Vo Tan Nhan, Director of Tri An Hydropower Company, said that the rainy season has now begun, with an average water flow of 200 m3/s into the lake.

Many locals and tourists bring their own tents to camp in the middle of Tri An Lake's lawn for weekend fun. "These tents were set up by groups of friends who came to camp, then cleaned up and moved away, without building or encroaching on anything on the lake bed," said a male tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
