2025 is the first year that the high school graduation exam is organized according to the new program (2018 National High School Program). In particular, for the Literature subject, this is the first time that the language materials in the entire exam are not included in the textbook. This change will certainly make us feel more or less confused and bewildered. To review well and achieve high results in the Literature exam, students should note the following points:

Stick to the structure and exam matrix announced by the Ministry of Education for review.

The structure consists of 2 parts: Reading comprehension and writing. The reading comprehension part (4 points) is for a text outside the textbook, asking 5 small questions. The writing part (6 points) consists of 2 questions: Paragraph writing question (2 points) and essay writing question (4 points).

In which, if the reading comprehension text is a literary text, write a literary argumentative paragraph (NLVH), a social argumentative essay (NLXH); if the reading comprehension text is an argumentative or informative text, write a NLXH paragraph and a NLVH essay). Reviewing must ensure solid knowledge and proficiency in test-taking skills for each part and each sentence. Specifically:

- Reading comprehension (4 points): Need to master basic knowledge such as: genre knowledge (poetry, lyrical characters, main inspiration, narrator, dialogue, narrative point of view, etc.); Vietnamese language knowledge (artistic devices, rhetorical devices, language characteristics, etc.); expression methods, argumentative operations, etc. Read each question carefully, stick to the text to answer. For the reading comprehension section, you should answer briefly, clearly, go straight to the question, and answer directly to the problem.

- Writing section (6 points), including paragraph writing (2 points) and essay writing (4 points).
+ For paragraph writing, it is necessary to clearly define the requirements of the topic: form (paragraph), length (about 200 words), content. If it is a literary argumentative paragraph, the topic requires discussion of which aspect of the work, then focus on that aspect, paying attention to clarifying two aspects: ideological content and artistic form. If it is a social argumentative paragraph, stick to the given issue, find ideas and develop them in a reasonable manner.

+ For essay writing, it is necessary to determine the requirements of the topic: form (essay, ensuring structure: introduction, body, conclusion), length (about 600 words), content. If it is a literary essay, then depending on the genre of the work, analyze according to the genre's characteristics.

It is necessary to focus on analyzing on 2 aspects: Ideological content (Topics, themes, messages...), art (Poetry, language, images, storytelling, character building...). If it is a social essay, stick to the problem to find ideas and develop them. Note some basic ideas that need to be ensured: Explain to find meaning; use arguments to discuss, express opinions; present evidence; present lessons in cognition and action...

Read the questions first and then read the text.

By doing this, right from the first time you read the text, you will be able to visualize where the answer to the question lies in the text. At the same time, when reading the question, you should underline important keywords to focus your attention and avoid rambling and going off topic.

Stick to the exam questions and sample answers of the Ministry of Education and Training

You should stick to the sample test questions and answers of the Ministry of Education and Training (especially the second sample test, announced on October 18, 2025) to review because this test is intended to guide the official test. By reviewing this test, we will approach the official test quite closely.

Note that this year's exam materials are not all in the textbook.

That means we have never studied or listened to such materials. When faced with such strange exam questions, you need to stay calm, absolutely do not panic or be afraid. Just read the questions carefully, then think carefully, grasp the method of doing each type of test, you will handle all problems well, no matter how strange they are.

Distribute time appropriately for each part and each question.

You should take a few minutes to read your work carefully and correct mistakes before submitting it.
