Vietnam U.17 team competes for a spot in the U.17 World Cup.

For the Vietnam U17 team, the VFF continues to place its trust in coach Cristiano Roland, who led the Vietnam U17 team through the 2025 U17 Asian Championship qualifiers and also impressed with a 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan and a 1-0 win against Japan to secure the overall position at the 2024 Peace Cup international friendly tournament in China. In addition, to improve the quality of the coaching staff for the Vietnam U17 team in preparation for the greater challenges at the 2025 U17 Asian Championship finals, the VFF has decided to appoint Mr. Yutaka Ikeuchi as a technical supervisory advisor, working alongside head coach Cristiano Roland and his colleagues.

According to the plan, after a training camp at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnam U.17 team will travel to Oman for training from March 23rd to 29th. There, the team will have two "warm-up" matches against the host team, Oman U.17, before moving to Saudi Arabia to participate in the 2025 AFC U.17 Championship, competing for a chance to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U.17 World Cup, where the number of participating teams will increase from 24 to 48, with Asia having 8 slots.

U22 team prepares thoroughly for SEA Games 33.

Regarding the Vietnam U22 team, preparations for the 2026 U23 Asian Championship qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games have also been underway since very early on, especially the building of a strong squad with many young players given the opportunity to train and practice with the national team. Some players have even featured in the Vietnamese national team's lineup at official international tournaments, most recently Bui Vi Hao and Khuat Van Khang at the 2024 AFF Cup.

In 2025, the Vietnam U22 team will continue to receive support from the VFF (Vietnam Football Federation) for training camps alongside the national team during FIFA Days. This March, the team will participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international football tournament, featuring high-quality U22 teams from various regions of Asia. Besides the familiar guest teams, Vietnam U22 (Southeast Asia) and Uzbekistan U22 (Central Asia), the tournament will also include a very strong team from East Asia, South Korea U22.

The Vietnam U.22 team, under the leadership of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, participated in a friendly tournament in China, facing strong opponents.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U22 team will reconvene on March 10th at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Because this coincides with the FIFA Days training camp in March 2025 for the Vietnam national team, coach Kim Sang-sik will continue to entrust the head coach position of the Vietnam U22 team to assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh.

During his working visit to China for the 2025 AFC U-20 Championship, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan met and discussed with leaders of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Chinese Football Association regarding the activities of Vietnamese youth teams. The immediate focus was on the training plan for the Vietnam U-17 team ahead of the 2025 AFC U-17 Championship and the Vietnam U-22 team's participation in the 2025 CFA Team China international football tournament.
