Dalot is injured after a long period of hard work. |
The Portuguese will be sidelined for the game against Bournemouth and head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that he is unlikely to return before the end of the season.
“It is possible that Dalot will miss the rest of the season, but I don't know for sure. We will check every week. He trains very hard and can recover well, so we will monitor him," Amorim shared.
Previously, MU lost Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee until the end of the season, due to knee and hamstring injuries respectively.
Dalot has played with great intensity throughout the season, appearing in a total of 51 matches in all competitions, the most in the "Red Devils" squad. This shows the importance of the 1999-born star in Amorim's tactical system, especially after being switched to his preferred right-back position.
In addition to his defensive abilities, Dalot has also shown impressive offensive ability. He scored in Europa League matches against Lyon, Real Sociedad and FCSB, as well as assisting Alejandro Garnacho's goal against Newcastle in the Premier League.
Losing Dalot at the crucial end of the season is a huge blow to Man Utd's ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League via the Europa League. The Old Trafford club are doing their utmost to help the Portuguese international recover quickly.
