Unlike robot vacuum cleaners that are constantly adding cleaning and positioning features, home mop models have less technological improvements. The upgrades mainly come in mopping and self-cleaning features. The One S9 Artist Steam, a new update from Tineco, has improved both of these features. |

True to its name, the S9 Steam is capable of cleaning the floor with hot air. The boiler in the machine will heat the steam to over 100 degrees, then push the air out to the mop head, which in theory will help clean stubborn stains. In actual experience, when cleaning a floor dirty with dried milk, the floor using steam mode feels cleaner, while in normal mode, after cleaning and drying, the floor still feels sticky. |

When removed from the base and turned on, the machine defaults to normal mode. Switching to steam mode, the user will have to wait about a minute for the machine to heat up the water. In the picture, you can see 2 buttons: start (left) and mode switch. In addition to the 2 modes mentioned above, the S9 Steam model also has 2 other familiar modes: maximum suction (max) and water only suction (suction). |

The floor cleaning roller combined with the suction force of the machine when operating helps to "push" the machine forward, bringing gentle operation to the user. The device head can also rotate flexibly 360 degrees, helping to increase the ability to clean corners in the house. When passing through dirty water stains, the machine both sucks up water and wipes it clean with the roller and then repeats the process, helping to ensure cleaning and leaving less water stains. Quick experience shows that the floor cleaning machine leaves much less water than the robot, a little drier than a regular mop when it is wrung out, while the cleaning efficiency is higher. |

The design of the machine allows the handle to be lowered flat. The highest point is now about 13 cm, allowing the user to put the cleaning machine in places such as under tables and chairs. When not in use, the device can also be kept upright. |

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the machine can operate for 75 minutes on a full charge. This is a very generous number, because to clean an apartment of about 90 m2 only requires 10-15 minutes of operation. |

In automatic mode, the machine can adjust the suction power flexibly based on the dirtiness of the water sucked in. The light on the body also shows the dirtiness level, in which red means dirty, and blue means clean. |

With strong suction, the machine can suck up even large particles such as rice grains and beans on the floor. However, the machine only has one container for both dirty water and trash, so users should avoid using it in rooms or locations with a lot of large trash, which can cause inconvenience later when emptying the water tray. Users should also regularly empty the dirty water tray to avoid odors remaining in the tray. |

The clean water tank has a capacity of 880 ml, which can be used for 3 cleaning times - the cloth must be replaced before it needs to be washed. Users can also add specialized floor cleaner to the machine to increase cleaning efficiency, but the company recommends not adding floor cleaner when using steam mode. |

When placed on the charging dock and pressing the cleaning button on the top, the machine will clean itself by rotating the roller through the brush on the dock combined with 85-degree hot water. The S9 Steam also has a drying function after washing, to limit musty odors, especially during humid periods. The entire self-cleaning process takes about 9 minutes, and the noise level is high, so users should also be careful when using it indoors. |

Users can set up some features for the machine via the Tineco Life app. Some can only be adjusted on the app such as turning off the lights, setting the volume, notification language, and suction power. The machine can play notifications in Vietnamese for easier use, but the screen on the body of the machine only displays English. |

With a price of 16.9 million, the S9 Steam floor mop is probably suitable for families with large, multi-storey houses or those who value cleaning efficiency to invest in compared to a regular floor cleaning robot. If you do not need the steam cleaning feature, the One S9 Artist version (without Steam) is about 3 million cheaper. At the price range of around 10-11 million, Tineco or Roborock also have cheaper models such as the One S6 or Dyad Air, with relatively effective cleaning but rougher design, and lacking features such as drying the mop with hot air. |
