According to the plan of the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, the entrance exam for grade 6 is expected to be conducted at the same time as the entrance exam for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted on July 4. The expected announcement of results is on July 15.
Thus, up to this point, there are 2 schools in Ho Chi Minh City that will conduct the survey for grade 6: Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School (Thu Duc City) and Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School (District 1).
Priority admission is given to students in the area who have completed primary school with a final exam score of 9 or higher in Vietnamese and Math, and have aptitude skills, foreign language proficiency, and family circumstances.
Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School is a school that follows the model of "advanced, internationally integrated school". If students are not admitted to grade 6 of the school, they will still be arranged to study in grade 6 of other secondary schools according to the regulations of the Primary Admission Steering Committee.
This year, Thu Duc City is piloting the application of Geographic Information System (GIS map) in primary school admissions. In particular, students are arranged to study at schools near their residence; inter-ward study placements can be considered according to administrative boundaries.
