The militia and police of Then Sin commune supported working days to help households build new, spacious houses.

As a poor household in Then Sin commune, Mrs. Deo Thi Hien's family in Then Sin 1 village has 3 members who have lived for many years in a damaged temporary house, which is tilted and about to collapse. Being informed by the local Party Committee and government about the Party and State's policy of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Mrs. Hien's family was very happy and agreed to demolish the degraded house to build a new, more spacious and sturdy house. With a financial support of 60 million VND, Mrs. Hien's family boldly borrowed an additional 50 million VND from the bank to build a new house with an area of ​​80m2, a corrugated iron roof, ensuring the 3 hard criteria, with a total cost of more than 100 million VND.

The new house of Mrs. Lo Thi Giot's family in Then Sin 2 village is in the final stages of completion, ready to move in. Previously, her family lived in a dilapidated, rickety wooden house. Thanks to the support of the temporary and dilapidated house removal program, her family received 60 million VND in support to build a new, solid house. Along with that, Then Sin commune directed the militia to support working days to speed up the construction progress for her family.

To join hands with the local Party Committee and government to carry out the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Military Command of Then Sin commune has supported working days to help poor and near-poor households speed up the construction and repair of their houses. Despite the harsh and hot weather, more than 30 militiamen in the commune did not mind the difficulties, everyone enthusiastically participated in transporting materials, sifting sand, mixing mortar, roofing... to help poor households in the commune complete their houses earlier than expected.

Then Sin commune officials regularly go down to the village to inspect and urge the progress of removing temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

Then Sin commune has 87 temporary and dilapidated houses belonging to poor and near-poor households that are supported with funding to remove temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 75 households are building new houses and 12 households are repairing them; with a support budget of 60 million VND for newly built households and 30 million VND for repairing households. Along with the State's support resources, the locality has mobilized local forces such as militia, police, and organizations to support working days to help poor and near-poor households repair and rebuild their houses. By April 21, nearly 50 households in the commune have completed their houses, the rest are under construction.

With the joint efforts of the whole society, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Then Sin commune is making steady progress. The new houses are not only a shelter from the rain and sun, but also a symbol of solidarity, hope and a better future for the disadvantaged households in the commune.
