Candidates "hit the jackpot" in the 10th grade entrance exam literature questions

(Dan Tri) - More than 39,000 candidates from Nghe An entered the 10th grade high school entrance exam with the subject of literature. Many students were excited because the exam questions were part of the review program, suitable for the students' abilities.

On the morning of June 3, Nghe An candidates officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year with the first subject being literature. The exam is in essay format, with a time limit of 120 minutes.

After finishing the exam, many candidates left the exam room feeling relieved and happy.

Nguyen Phuong Ha Na, a student at Nguyen Truong To Secondary School (Vinh City), who took the exam to enter Huynh Thuc Khang High School, shared: "I basically did the test well. This year's test has a different structure than last year's but it was not surprising. I scored myself about 8 points."

In Thai Hoa town, many candidates said that this year's exam consisted of two familiar parts: Reading comprehension and writing.

The reading comprehension section requires analysis of the character Tung in the excerpt On the Dragonfly Wings by writer Tran Duc Tien.

The writing section has two sentences: a social argumentative paragraph discussing the circulation of folk games in today's life and a literary argumentative paragraph.

Most students said that the exam questions were within the review program, had a familiar structure, were not challenging, and had reasonable classification.

Student Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (Hoa Hieu 1 Secondary School, Thai Hoa town) shared: "The questions were completely within what the teachers had reviewed. The literary essay part was based on the work I had prepared carefully, so I did quite well."

Le Anh Hung (Long Son Secondary School, Thai Hoa town) said: "The test is not difficult for students who have fully prepared, but the reading comprehension part still has differentiation. This year's social argument question is open, helping students express their true feelings about the issue of preserving folk games in modern life."

Ms. NTH, a literature teacher at Dong Hieu Secondary School, Thai Hoa town, commented: "This year's exam is within reach and clear. Students with a solid grasp of the skills will easily score 6-7 points. Good students can score high if they think well and write coherently."

According to the assessment of many teachers and students, this year's literature exam continues to maintain stability, creating conditions for students to demonstrate their personal abilities, reducing exam pressure, and at the same time promoting their ability to think and appreciate literature in connection with reality.
