Bim Son town with the movement of donating land to open roads and build civilized urban areas

Ho Quy Ly Street through Dong Son Ward (Bim Son Town) was upgraded and expanded thanks to the land donation movement.

This movement was initiated and led by the extensive implementation of Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated July 12, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "The campaign for people to donate land to invest in renovating, upgrading, and improving infrastructure, focusing on roads in rural and urban areas in the province in a synchronous and modern direction" (referred to as Directive No. 24). To create consensus among the people, Bim Son town has focused on propaganda work, focusing on clarifying the role of the people in urban development according to the motto "The State and the People work together".

Responding to Directive No. 24, up to now, Lam Son, Ngoc Trao, Ba Dinh, Bac Son, Dong Son wards and Quang Trung commune have had many roads expanded and upgraded thanks to people voluntarily donating land, dismantling works, and contributing to the completion of projects on schedule. One of the outstanding examples is Ly Thuong Kiet Street, extending through Ngoc Trao Ward and Quang Trung Commune. The road was previously narrow, the roadbed was degraded, making it difficult for people to travel. With the motto "The State and the People work together", more than 200 households have voluntarily donated land, including households donating nearly 50 square meters of residential land. Mr. Pham Thanh Binh, Party cell secretary and head of village 3 (Quang Trung commune) said: “After being informed and mobilized, most households in the village agreed and supported the implementation of the project. Initially, there were a few families who were hesitant, but then they realized the benefits and spread of the movement. Many households donated dozens of square meters of residential land, accepted to reduce their living space to expand the traffic route, contributing to building a safer and cleaner residential area.”

According to the report of the People's Committee of Bim Son town, 7/7 communes and wards in the town have registered to renovate and upgrade traffic routes. The town has mobilized 284 households to donate land to expand and invest in renovating, upgrading and improving the infrastructure of the following routes: Ho Tung Mau, Ly Thuong Kiet, 527C and Ho Quy Ly, with a total area of ​​1,220m2.

Not only stopping at donating land to open roads, communes and wards in the town also actively implement the criteria for building a civilized urban lifestyle (NSVMĐT), in the spirit of Directive No. 29-CT/TU, dated April 1, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in continuing to promote the implementation of NSVMĐT in the town for the period 2024-2030. In recent times, Bim Son town has strengthened inspection and handling of violations of urban order, and effectively organized movements such as: "Green Sunday", "Self-managed roads", "Civilized neighborhoods"... Along with that, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has been widely deployed and put into practice.

Vice Chairman of Bim Son Town People's Committee, Mai The Tri, said: The implementation of the urban planning in the town is increasingly going into depth. Thanks to that, the quality of life of the people has been significantly improved. In addition, the work of planning, construction, urban management, ensuring urban order, investing in traffic infrastructure, public lighting, planting new trees... has been effectively implemented. Currently, the town has 47 models, streets, and routes registered and implementing the construction of urban planning. Notably, the encroachment on roadsides, sidewalks... has been basically handled; many roads and neighborhoods are increasingly cleaner, more airy and orderly.

The movement of donating land to invest in renovating, upgrading and improving infrastructure in Bim Son town has shown the spirit, responsibility and solidarity of the people, and at the same time demonstrated the vision and determination in the construction of a civilized and modern urban area of ​​the town. However, besides the achieved results, some routes, models and tasks in implementing NSVMĐT have not really created clear changes; the landscape and environment in some residential areas have not really met the requirements of "clean environment, beautiful landscape"; the investment in completing infrastructure after donating land in some places is still slow; the system of infrastructure, roads and public works is not yet synchronized... are limitations that need to be paid attention to and overcome, so that each residential area in Bim Son town becomes increasingly civilized, modern and affectionate.
