On May 6, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Director of Vinh International Airport ( Nghe An ) said that the airport is expected to temporarily suspend operations from July 1, 2025 to serve large-scale infrastructure upgrades.

However, Mr. Tuan emphasized that this is only an estimated timeline and still requires an official written decision from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. Thus, the airport closure plan has been adjusted, delayed from the original plan of early June.

At the same time, items such as material curbs, brake strips, signal systems, signal paint and drainage will also be synchronously renovated. The total investment for this project is 623.4 billion VND.
