Regarding the sea weather, early morning of March 23, Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Nguyen Van Huong said that currently on Phu Quy island there are gusts of wind level 7; Huyen Tran area (South of East Sea) has strong northeast wind level 6-7, gusts level 8. Forecast, on March 23, the sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau and the sea area west of the South East Sea area (including the sea area west of Truong Sa area) has strong wind level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough sea, waves 2-4m high. From noon and afternoon the wind will gradually decrease.
In addition, on March 23, the South China Sea (including the Truong Sa sea area) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
Warning, from the night of March 23, the wind in the above sea areas will continue to decrease. The risk level of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and big waves.
According to the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , to proactively respond to dangerous weather at sea, coastal localities need to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.
