The title is selected based on a strict system of criteria on governance, creativity, sustainability, environment and contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), becoming an international standard for high-quality community tourism models.

In recent years, Tuyen Quang province has focused on building the brand of Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune as a community tourism destination that develops in a green and sustainable direction. The locality has focused on improving infrastructure associated with environmental protection, planning a waste collection and treatment system, limiting single-use plastics, increasing green space, improving clean water sources and standard toilets to serve tourists. Along with that, it is necessary to preserve traditional landscapes and architecture, use natural, environmentally friendly materials, and control the number of visitors appropriately to ensure ecological balance.

The community is empowered through training programs on hospitality skills, service management, food safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection and civilized tourism behavior. The development of local livelihoods is promoted through homestay models, local cuisine, traditional crafts, cultural and agricultural experiences, ensuring fair benefit sharing, creating stable jobs, and encouraging the participation of women and youth.

Communication and promotion activities are widely deployed through publications, reports, digital platforms and tour connection programs inside and outside the province, contributing to spreading the image of Lo Lo Chai - a green, safe, friendly and sustainable cultural destination in the international tourism market. At the same time, the province has gradually established a mechanism to monitor and evaluate sustainable development indicators on environment, culture and socio-economy to adjust appropriate policies, ensuring harmonious development between tourism, community and nature.

This process received important technical support from Helvetas (Switzerland) through the "Sustainable Tourism for Development" Project (ST4SD) jointly implemented by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. Project experts surveyed, assessed potential, proposed product development initiatives, supported community training, oriented accommodation - experience models and advised on completing the nomination dossier for the title "World's Best Tourist Village".

Lo Lo Chai village is a favorite destination for many domestic and international tourists.

The success of Lo Lo Chai is not only the pride of the local community but also an important milestone in the journey to affirm the Tuyen Quang tourism brand on the world map. Along with the title from UN Tourism, Tuyen Quang province continues to promote heritage values ​​and regional connectivity through outstanding results at the World Travel Awards (WTA).

In particular, on October 13, 2025, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, Tuyen Quang - Vietnam was honored by WTA in the category "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2025".
