Parents "surround" Tay Mo 3 Primary School because of zoning: 524 applications wishing to study
The incident of parents "surrounding" Tay Mo 3 Primary School, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, which occurred on August 21, is attracting public attention. At a meeting in the evening of the same day, Mr. Pham Van Khang, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, said that he would develop a plan to ensure the legitimate rights of students. All conditions in accordance with regulations will be created for students to study in the area.

Recently, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District also responded to parents' concerns about the overload of student learning needs at Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
According to the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, implementing Decision 1388/QD-UBND dated July 4, 2024 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District on separating Tay Mo Primary School into Tay Mo Primary School and Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
The Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district has organized the separation of students according to the separation project approved by the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district.
After the separation, the total number of students at Tay Mo 3 Primary School was 1,111. However, on August 21, 2024, Tay Mo 3 Primary School reported receiving 524 applications (as of 5:00 p.m. on August 21, 2024) from parents wishing to send their children to study at Tay Mo 3 Primary School, Nam Tu Liem District.

The Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district coordinated with the People's Committee of Tay Mo ward and related units to review, synthesize, and classify subjects and report to the People's Committee to propose solutions to ensure the legitimate rights of students according to regulations.
The Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, Tay Mo Ward People's Committee, and Tay Mo 3 Primary School will notify parents after the District People's Committee approves the solution on August 23.
On the evening of August 21, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, Principal of Tay Mo 3 Primary School, said that the school received the actual number of students separated from Tay Mo Primary School. The number of students has been recorded and the list has been sent to the school, but the school is currently completing the work to welcome the students.
According to Ms. Hang: "The school currently has 30 classes, each class has 35 students. We accept 1,100 students. When we moved to the new school, the school leaders separated and transferred all the actual students. The new board of directors did not do the enrollment work. The enrollment work was done by Tay Mo Primary School, which separated to recruit students for Tay Mo 3 Primary School. We received the actual number of students separated from Tay Mo Primary School. After receiving, reviewing, and basing on the actual situation (like today there is a form for parents to fill out), basing on the actual situation, the school sent the entire list to the superiors, then waited for instructions."
The board of directors said that they had just taken over the job 2 days ago and were still preparing to welcome students and start the new school year.
