The goal is to complete 3,000km of highways nationwide by 2025 (by 2026, the Mekong Delta region will have about 600km of highways).

The Prime Minister stated that he is determined to strive to complete the project ahead of schedule. In particular, the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway component 1 project is behind schedule and must find solutions to accelerate and complete it in 2025 as planned.

For the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to direct investors and contractors to speed up construction progress, striving to complete and open the entire bridge to traffic before National Day, September 2, 2025 (4 months shorter than planned).

For the Can Tho - Ca Mau project, the Ministry of Construction directed the My Thuan Project Management Board to speed up progress and strive to complete the project before December 19, 2025. For the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang project, the Prime Minister requested the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Can Tho, An Giang , Hau Giang, and Soc Trang to focus on directing and ensuring the completion of component projects before July 2026.

Previously, on April 19, My Thuan Project Management Board and contractors completed the construction of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge. This is an important premise for the project to be completed and opened to traffic before September 2. Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is one of 50 projects selected by the Government to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
