The project will be implemented from 2022 to 2025, with construction locations in Bac Ninh city and Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh province) with a total length of more than 18 km, connecting industrial parks with National Highway 3; at the same time connecting Ring Road 4 and Bac Giang province via Ha Bac 2 bridge. The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND.

According to comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, this is an important project, connecting the northeastern region of Bac Ninh province with the national highway system in the area, creating a convenient traffic direction with the capital region of Hanoi as well as the provinces of Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen.
Thus, up to now, along the Cau River, together with Ha Bac 2 Bridge, there have been 5 bridges connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. These bridges not only shorten the geographical distance but also further tighten the economic flow, connecting the unique historical and cultural values of the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.
In recent years, Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh) and Viet Yen town (Bac Giang) have emerged as dynamic "industrial capitals" of the North, concentrating many large-scale industrial parks and being the production headquarters of many leading economic groups in the world such as: Samsung, Amkor, Goertek, Foxconn...
The completion and putting into use of Ha Bac 2 Bridge has strategic significance, creating a strong driving force to connect the industrial production chain between the two localities, forming a key industrial zone with leading competitiveness in the country.
It is known that according to the planning after the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, there will be 12 bridges across the Cau River. This will be an important premise for planning and developing a modern, synchronous industrial city along the Cau River and rich in development potential in the future with a hundred-year vision.
